Visit cleaner Snowdon with car hire at Manchester Airport
People using car hire at Manchester Airport may want to get around and see some scenery, with easily-reached mountain areas including the Snowdonia National Park in north Wales.
A highlight of a visit for many is taking the Snowdon Mountain railway to the top of the peak, which at 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) is the highest point in Britain outside Scotland and any time after the morning of September 7th may be an ideal one to take the ride.
This is because volunteers from the Snowdonia Society will be heading up the mountain early in the morning on that date to pick up litter that has accumulated near the top.
Such work should ensure visitors can enjoy a cleaner and purer environment as they admire the views from the summit, which has a cafe and visitor centre.
Llanberis is the starting point for the Snowdon Mountain railway and to get there from Manchester Airport, take the M56 motorway southbound through Cheshire and past Chester to enter Wales.
From here, take the A55 to Halfway Bridge near Bangor, from where Llanberis is signposted on local roads via the A5, A4244 and A4547.
