Stansted Airport car hire could be ideal for Christmas shopping, as nearby Bury St Edmunds has been recommended as one of the best places to go for some festive retail therapy.

According to the Daily Telegraph, yuletide shopping doesn't need to be stressful and the market town is among the most enjoyable destinations to buy gifts in the UK.

The publication particularly praised Bury St Edmunds for its family entertainment, noting its Annual Christmas Fayre is taking place from November 26th to 28th.

Here, there will be six different markets, performances taking place on two stages, a funfair and a Santa's grotto with real reindeer.

People are advised to head to Angel Hill, which is the main hub, Charter Square for German-style stalls and Moyse's Hall Museum, where there will be a historical market.

Car hire users should be able to reach the town in less than an hour from Stansted Airport, if they drive north along the M11, before turning onto the A11 at Junction 9.
