Those using car hire at Manchester Airport may wish to take the chance to head up to the Lake District’s national visitor centre at Brockhole for a day of fun and falconry.

In a day that may provide plenty of family entertainment, on July 20th the centre will be offering visitors the chance to see mini beasts from the Silverband Falconry and learn more about the countryside.

Booking is £3 per person and sessions will be held at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00 BST.

The centre is located by the shores of Windermere, which is England’s largest lake and offers a range of activities for all the family, including the chance to ride on steamboats on the lake or take a ferry to the east side, where the woods of Claife Heights are said to be haunted.

Getting from Manchester to Brockhole by car is simple, with the motorway network around the city connecting with the M61 and the M6 heading north to Kendal.

From Junction 36, you can head westwards via the A590 and A591, with the second of these roads taking you straight to Brockhole.
