Use Heathrow car rental for a date with history
Those using Heathrow Airport car hire to explore a bit of historic England may wish to head up to the town of Stratford-upon-Avon for the Midlands History Festival on August 7th and 8th.
Held at the Stratford Armouries, the event will explore events in the region right through from Roman times to the second world war, with major displays of living history and a craft fair.
Visitors will be able to see life – and battles – being re-enacted throughout the weekend, giving the family a chance to get a sense of the significance of various events in the past.
Stratford itself is also full of history as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, with attractions including his birthplace as well as the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, offering a chance to see one of his plays.
To get to Stratford from Heathrow you should first take the M4 to join the M25 and then exit at junction 4b for the M40.
The M40 will take you all the way into Warwickshire, where you exit at junction 15 for the A46, which takes you on to Stratford and from where you turn right onto Gospel Oka Lane for the Armouries.
