Use car hire to explore award-winning Manchester attractions
A good way to make use of Manchester airport car hire this summer could be to visit some of the many award-winning attractions in the city.
The winners of the Manchester Tourism Awards 2010 have been announced, with the Chill Factore given the Access for All Award for the steps it takes to help disabled people enjoy its facilities.
Another option for those using Manchester Airport car hire is to pay a visit to the city’s art gallery, which picked up the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year accolade at last night’s (May 27th) ceremony.
Other winners include the River Bar and Restaurant at the Lowry Hotel, which scooped the Taste of Manchester Award, and Heaton Park, which was awarded the BBC Radio Manchester People’s Choice prize.
Paul Simpson, managing director of Visit Manchester, said that each of the successful organisations plays a vital part in what makes the city so attractive.
"With the [economic] situation now improving, it is due to the hard work and commitment of those working within the industry that the city is able to call itself a top tourist destination," he stated.
There are a number of events those using Manchester Airport car hire could visit this summer, including the Manchester Day Parade on June 26th and the Exodus Festival on July 18th.
