Use car hire to drive to Bath and see its famous sights
Families looking for a break packed with historical sights and cultural events might want to head to Bath.
The city is home to attractions such as the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge and the Royal Crescent, while its events calendar for the summer includes Roman Baths By Torchlight in July and August and the Bath Food and Drink Festival in July.
According to Lucy Weaver of Bath Tourism Plus, "there is always something taking place in Bath".
Other attractions include the Thermae Bath Spa, which offers the chance to bathe in the only natural thermal springs in the UK and is "a great place to relax as the Romans once did thousands of years ago", Ms Weaver remarks.
If you’re using Heathrow car rental to get to the city, the journey is around 100 miles long via the M4 motorway.
It’s also possible to reach Bath using Gatwick car hire, although this is a slightly longer trip.
