Use car hire at Stansted Airport for jumbo fun
Those using car hire at Stansted Airport can enjoy many excursions in London and one of these is a chance for the family to enjoy seeing the elephants at London zoo in close-up.
Fans of these huge but loveable creatures can see them at 14:30 BST every day throughout the summer in the Elephantastic demonstration.
These involve the keepers demonstrating how they train the giant beasts, including how they get them to lift their feet to allow vets to check them.
Visitors will also get to see the most recently-born baby elephant at the zoo, which was born in April, as well as an elephant walkabout, when they all stride in formation clinging to each other’s tails with their trunks.
To get to London Zoo from Stansted, take the M11 motorway down to and past the M25 orbital motorway as far as Woodford Green.
From here, take the A11 towards Walthamstow, then the B179 until the right turning for the B503, from where you proceed to Camden and turn onto the A400.
You can then return to the A503 at Delancey Street, before finally turning off at Gloucester Circle, from where the zoo is signposted.
