Taste autumn treats with car hire at Gatwick Airport

People taking advantage of car hire at Gatwick Airport will have the opportunity to taste Sussex's local delicacies this month.

The Taste of Rye food festival, which is being held from October 16th to 24th, is billed by organisers as a "nine-day extravaganza of guilt-free gorging".

Visitors will be able to try dishes fresh from the harvest from local farm shops, vineyards and food producers.

A farmers' market will take place on October 23rd in the centre of Rye, where home-made jams and chutneys, as well as organic cakes and bread will be on offer.

There will also be street entertainers and a huge paella being cooked by the chefs from The George in Rye hotel.

Meanwhile, people will find a range of activities such as cooking demonstrations and special menus at establishments in the nearby area.

Car hire users can expect to reach Rye from Gatwick Airport in approximately an hour-and-a-half if they select the M23 and exit at Junction 8 onto the M25.
