Take a countryside walk with car hire at Gatwick Airport
People using car hire at Gatwick Airport might like to drive into the Surrey countryside to enjoy an autumnal walk.
Countryside manager at the National Trust Paul Redsell described a route in a piece for the Daily Telegraph that centres around Leith Hill and "takes in a variety of habitats and landscapes".
"At this time of year the autumn colours are spectacular and a wide variety of wild mushrooms are beginning to appear," he continued.
Mr Redsell said walkers are likely to see flocks of woodland birds, including coal tits, blue tits and goldcrests.
The route takes people to Leith Hill tower, the highest point in south-east England, from which one can see panoramic views of central London and the English Channel.
On a clear day, up to 13 different counties can be made out.
The drive from Gatwick Airport to Leith Hill should take approximately half an hour, if motorists turn onto London Road and select the A217 at Longbridge roundabout.
