See ‘one of the best beaches in the world’ with Heathrow car rental
Individuals taking advantage of Heathrow car rental may wish to visit a beach in Dorset after it was recommended by one journalist.
Gavin McOwan named Shell Beach on the Isle of Purbeck one of the top ten beaches in the world and his favourite in the UK.
He described the spot, which is protected by the National Trust, as "completely unspoilt".
Although the Isle is technically a peninsula, visitors will really feel like they have left the mainland when they take the three-minute ferry journey across the water, Mr McOwan said.
He stated the Purbeck scenery is "really wild and interesting", while there are miles of sand dunes to explore.
Mr McOwan recommended people stop at the Shell Bay Bar and Restaurant for an afternoon beer or a seafood dish overlooking the harbour.
Car hire users can expect the journey from Heathrow Airport to take around two-and-a-quarter hours, if they take the M3 towards Southampton.
