See illuminations with Edinburgh car rental
Individuals taking advantage of car hire at Edinburgh Airport next month might like to head across the border to Northumberland.
Here, they will be able to see an attraction in all its glory as it is bathed in light.
Cragside Estate in Morpeth will be transformed into an interactive illumination called the Electric Estate from November 12th to 28th in celebration of the 200th birthday of its past resident Lord Armstrong.
The building was the first in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity, according to the Visit Northumberland blog.
Zoe Bottrell, director of Northumberland Lights, explained the event is set to be "extraordinary" and will be inspired by a similar show created for the Prince and Princess of Wales in 1884, which involved decorating the house's gardens with 10,000 small glass lamps.
Car hire users should be able to reach the estate in just over two hours if they drive along the A720, before taking the A68 exit towards Jedburgh.
