Play golf at St Andrews with Edinburgh car hire

Car hire at Edinburgh Airport may be perfect for sports fans, as it could take users on an hour-and-a-quarter drive to St Andrews golf course.

The site runs the Old Course Experience, which offers visitors guaranteed tee times on the fairways, fine dining options and cultural excursions.

It recently won a bronze prize at the International Sports Event Management Awards, where it was recognised in the Event Hospitality and Travel category for the outstanding customer-focused approach of its team.

Ted Walker, head of marketing at the Old Course Experience and Keith Prowse, said it is characterised by its staff, "who work tirelessly in providing an exceptionally dedicated service to guests".

The programme "allows visitors from around the world the chance to follow in the footsteps of their heroes", he added.

Car hire users can reach St Andrews by driving along the A90 and the M90, before turning off onto the A92 at Junction 2a.
