New flight route to boost London car hire?
There may be an increase in car hire customers in London after the announcement that a flight route is being expanded.
Flights between London City Airport and Barcelona will now run all year round after the British Airways (BA) service – initially a summer-only exercise – decided to extend it.
Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager for BA CityFlyer, noted that "there is a big demand from both business and leisure passengers for us to continue through the winter".
An extra Saturday morning departure is to be introduced in May, which will bring the number available to seven.
They can be purchased at £63 one-way at ba.com, where it is also possible to check out new options to Majorca and Ibiza, also to be launched in May.
It was recently announced that car rental customers in London had been advised to use electric cars, as the low-carbon vehicles allowed drivers to "whizz around" the capital, according Hugh Bladon, spokesperson for the Association of British Drivers.
