More vehicles for car hire customers affected by airspace ban
Car hire company Europcar is diverting some of its fleet to areas where customers need it most following the effects of the recent volcanic ash cloud which swept across the UK.
More vehicles will be available for car hire in London and ferry ports will also be allocated extra motors.
Marketing director at Europcar UK Catriona Lougher said: "It has been a very difficult time for British holidaymakers and business travellers, but also Britons back in the UK who will have seen a ripple affecting national transport."
She added that the consequences of last week’s airspace restrictions will be felt for weeks to come as ferries, airlines and trains try to clear the backlog of travellers.
Car hire company Hertz recently offered solutions to passengers caught up in the airspace ban by cancelling some of its fees for those going across borders on a one-way car hire contract from the UK.
