Lots to like and lick at the Loch with car hire at Glasgow Airport

Those using car hire at Glasgow Airport may quickly appreciate how close they are to some of Scotland's most celebrated scenery, with the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park close by.

One particular event that may enhance a trip to the area is the Loch Lomond Food and Drink Festival, which is to be held at Balloch's Loch Lomond Shores centre on the weekend of September 18th and 19th.

This event offers a chance to enjoy both produce from the national park and the rest of Scotland, plus food from around the world if you don't take to haggis.

Kids will get a chance to enjoy some of their own activities, with birds of prey on show and a chance to milk a cow.

Visitors to Balloch can also enjoy taking boat rides on the loch.

To get to Balloch from the airport is simple, starting with a journey northwards away from the city on the M8 and then the A898, before crossing the towering Erskine Bridge.

On the other side of the River Clyde, take the A82 up past Dumbarton into the national park, with a right turning into Balloch. Loch Lomond Shores is well signposted.
