Heathrow car rental could take visitors to Ilminster, Somerset, for an autumn event next month.

ChutFest is set to celebrate preserves on October 2nd and 3rd, where cooks, gardeners and food fans can swap home-made chutneys, pickles and jams.

People can enter their own jar into a competition for the best chutney of the day, or enjoy tasting other treats and stocking their cupboards for winter.

Matthew Applegate, visitor services manager for the National Trust at Barrington Court where the festival will be held, said: "We're delighted to be hosting ChutFest for the second year running. This is a wonderful autumnal event, celebrating harvest and the great art of preserving."

Ilminster is approximately a two-and-a-half-hour drive away from Heathrow Airport and to reach it, car hire users should take the M4 and the M25 out of London.

Motorists need to then exit at Junction 12 onto the M3, before selecting the A308 at Junction 8.
