Lake District to offer scenic beauty for car hire customers?
Car hire customers travelling from London, Manchester and Liverpool to the Lake District may well go to the Lake Windermere, an expert has said.
Ian Hawkins, domestic market manager for Cumbria Tourism, noted that it is the most popular attraction in the area as it is the longest of its kind in England.
He recommended people do their research before they come down, as it is always worthwhile going to one of the quieter spots, such as Ulls Water, Crummock Water and Derwent Water.
"It’s about getting out, mountain biking, hill walking, Ghyll Scrambling and those kind of things. That’s the Lake District for me, it’s about the walking, hiking and the outdoor activities," Mr Hawkins added.
According to figures recently released by the Office for National Statistics, seasonally-adjusted visitor numbers for the UK rose by two per cent compared to the previous three months and three per cent when contrasted with the results from a year ago.
