Hertz
car rental has moved to refurbish its corporate identity with a new branding programme that will see its facilities updated around the world.

The company, which is the largest in the global car hire sector, has unveiled a new-look logo and is beginning to rebrand a number of its key bases, which will see staff wearing different uniforms and the replacement of traditional signage with LCD displays.

Chief marketing officer at Hertz Mike Senackerib said his company believes "that the new logo portrays Hertz as a modern brand with personality for business, leisure and insurance replacement renters and equipment rental customers".

Further highlighting the desire to keep up with the times, the company is also looking to introduce booking applications for smart phones such as the BlackBerry during 2010.

This step has already been taken elsewhere in the car hire industry, with Europcar unveiling its own mobile reservation scheme in October.
