Heathrow car rental could lead to a literary adventure for youngsters, as the Wessex Children's Book Festival is taking place next month.

The event, which is taking place from October 23rd to 31st, will offer a host of activities for boys and girls, including writing workshops, face painting and balloon making.

Children may even get the chance to meet their favourite authors, as Jacqueline Wilson, Paul Stickland and Children's Laureate Anthony Browne will all be attending the festival.

Youngsters can also take part in Thomas the Tank Engine storytelling or a Twilight Fairies party, as well as marvel at jugglers and stilt walkers.

According to Familiesonline.co.uk, the event is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors this year and there will be 40 authors present.

It is being held at the Winchester Discovery Centre, which should take car hire users about an hour to reach from Heathrow.

Drivers need to take the M4 out of the airport and exit at Junction 4b onto the M25, before selecting the M3 exit at Junction 12.
