Head online to plan a forest-themed UK break

Heathrow car rental customers may wish to head online and plan a forest-themed holiday in the parts of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire covered by the National Forest.

The new National Forest Company website allows people to plan short breaks and days out in the area, with those with particular interests now able to search for areas of forest where they can enjoy certain activities.

Visitors will be able to locate places where they can partake in a spot of fishing, download cycling routes, find out the best places to eat and drink and even learn how to reduce their impact on the environment.

Those who are keen walkers will also be able to search and select routes based on their rambling ability.

However, this summer the National Forest will have a whole lot more than just the great outdoors to offer to visitors. A host of events – including performances of Shakespeare classic The Tempest, music festivals and a medieval joust – will be put on at locations around the region.
