Fiery stuff with car hire at Gatwick

Visitors using car hire at Gatwick may think of many reasons to visit the seaside resort of Brighton, but foodies who like it hot could have particular reason on the weekend of September 18th and 19th.

The Fiery Food Festival in Brighton is named after a local shop that specialises in the sort of sauces, dishes and spices that may leave some gasping for water, but others begging for a second helping.

Held in Victoria Gardens between 10:00 BST and 18:00 BST on both days, the event offers hot food stalls, cooking demonstrations and live music, with entry costing £3 for adults and £1 for children and other concessions.

Visitors to Brighton may also enjoy the last hint of summer on its shingle beach, see the famous pavilion and go on the pier.

To get to Brighton from Gatwick, take the A23 to join the M23 southbound until this passes Crawley and becomes the A23 again, entering the city via Hove, which was joined with Brighton to make the City of Brighton and Hove in 2000.
