Enjoy winter weather with car hire at Edinburgh Airport
People using car hire at Edinburgh Airport might like to drive north to the Cairngorms National Park, after the region was recommended as one of the best places to enjoy British winter weather.
Hugh Graham wrote in an article for the Daily Telegraph much of Britain's coastal and moorland landscape is at its "most atmospheric and romantic" during the winter months.
"It is exhilarating … to walk on clifftops above thundering waves, or tramp across moors and mountainsides in buffeting wind and swirling mist," he continued.
From November, the Cairngorms National Park is transformed into a winter wonderland with regular flurries of snow, Mr Graham said.
He recommended visitors keep warm by staying at the cottages of Baltinna West and Baltinna East, while the Cross at Kingussie serves up wholesome Scottish cooking beside a roaring fire.
It should take car hire users approximately two hours and 40 minutes to drive to Cairngorms National Park, if they head north along the M90 before exiting onto the A9.
