Enjoy family attractions with car hire at Edinburgh Airport
People with children using car hire at Edinburgh Airport will have plenty of family-friendly attractions to choose from in the capital, it has been suggested.
The Lonely Planet stated Edinburgh has a large range of things to do for youngsters, while most areas are child friendly.
Kids under the age of five travel for free on the city's buses, while there are good, safe playgrounds in most of the parks.
The travel guide recommended in particular Princes Street Gardens West, Inverleith Park, George V Park, Bruntsfield Links and the Meadows.
If the weather isn't perfect, there is the Discovery Centre, haunted tours of Real Mary King's Close, the Museum of Scotland – which has a hands-on activity zone – and an earthquake simulator at Our Dynamic Earth.
The city centre is less than a half-an-hour drive away from Edinburgh Airport, if car hire users take the A8 into the capital and turn right at Torpichen Street.
