Enjoy Bute-iful food with car hire at Glasgow Airport
Users of car hire at Glasgow Airport may occasionally want to take the ferry across to one of Scotland's islands and one good occasion on which to do this may be the Eat Bute Festival between September 10th and 12th.
Running in Port Stewart since 2008, this event features produce from round the island and the neighbouring mainland region of Argyll, with a strong emphasis on the slow food movement.
Individual events include a craft market, cookery demonstrations run by professional chefs, a ceilidh and children's activities, such as games, face painting and a walking theatre adventure.
Those visiting the island may also enjoy its coastal scenery and tranquility.
Getting to Bute form Glasgow Airport is a simple task, starting with a drive up the M8 motorway until the A8 turn for Greenock comes up.
Take this road and continue towards the town before bypassing it on the B788, joining the A78 on the other side of the town and continuing on to Wemyss Bay, where the ferry will take you across to the island.
