Edinburgh food festival set for pop-up charity eatery
Those using Edinburgh Airport car hire may wish to do their bit for charity by visiting a pop-up restaurant at this year’s Taste of Edinburgh food festival.
Top London restaurateur and star of BBC2’s Great British Menu Tristan Welch will host the Action Against Hunger stand at the event, which runs from May 28th to May 30th.
Attendees can expect to sample the delights of a Scottish taster menu, featuring lobster soup, roasted beef fillet and salt-baked chocolate, with all proceeds being donated to the Action Against Hunger charity.
Jean Michel Grand, executive director of the charity, says: "The pop-up restaurant will provide a great opportunity for visitors to indulge in Tristan Welch’s delicacies while helping make a difference in the international fight against child hunger."
Visitors to the festival can also take part in a cooking class with the Nick Nairn Cook School, relax at the Ondine champagne and oyster bar or watch a series of Michelin-starred and celebrity chefs demonstrate their culinary skills in the ScottishPower Taste Theatre.
