Car rental customers ‘to see less traffic on roads’
Car hire customers may find that they will soon be able to benefit from less congestion on roads.
This is because the Transport Select Committee has published a study that calls for smarter motorway planning.
Stephen Joseph, executive director of the Campaign for Better Transport, noted that sensible preparation will "reduce the need to travel, [reduce] traffic and [encourage] sustainable living".
He added that fixing the roads should take priority over constructing new ones, as the country can no longer afford massive building programmes.
"Good planning and smart use of technology are more likely to reduce congestion than road building," Mr Joseph observed.
He also remarked that a well-thought-out infrastructure meant that new housing is usually close to services, jobs, schools and hospitals.
It was recently announced that those hiring cars in the UK could find that travelling becomes safer, as the government is aiming to improve standards at road works sites.
