Car rental customers in south-east ‘to see new approach’
Car hire customers may benefit from a new approach that will see more people from Tourism South East representing the organisation on the streets.
Over 40 employees have volunteered their time to help them prepare for the 2010 British Tourism Week.
Worth £114 annually to the nation, it is the fifth biggest sector in the UK and accounts for 8.2 per cent of the economy.
Mike Bedingfield, chief executive of Tourism South East, noted the group had been extremely enthusiastic in offering assistance, with over two-thirds of staff taking part.
"The initiative has helped us to better understand the local level issues of operating tourism businesses, enabling us to better represent them in our day jobs," he added.
British Tourism Week takes place from March 15th to 21st and is hoping to refine the image of the industry.
It also aims to encourage a greater appreciation of the value of providing a quality product to individuals.
