Car hire customers to see reduced fuel prices?

Car hire customers may benefit from fewer hikes in petrol, it has emerged.

The Scottish National Party (SNP) has noted "sky high fuel prices" cannot be allowed to go any further.

It follows an announcement by the AA that the burden of fuel duty and VAT on a tank of petrol has gone up by 11.46 per cent in the UK since the Pre-Budget Report.

This compares to just 2.23 per cent in Austria and an average increase for ten mainstream European countries, including Germany and Holland, of 5.07 per cent.

MP Angus MacNeill stated: "The SNP MPs will continue to oppose Labour’s arbitrary fuel tax hikes and propose the introduction of a fuel duty regulator at the Budget to ensure price stability."

It was recently suggested that the Toyota Verso was the best car for drivers, after it received five stars in the revamped EuroNCAP ratings – the only vehicle to do so.
