Car hire customers to sample Norfolk?

Car hire customers and other tourists in the UK may want to visit the "fabulous heritage" that can be experienced in Norwich, it has been suggested.

Virginia Edwards, manager at the Norwich & Norfolk Conference Bureau, noted that it is one of the best-preserved medieval cities and is also one of the top ten shopping destinations.

However, it only makes up one element of the county of Norfolk, which also offers some beautiful countryside, Ms Edwards stated.

She added: "It’s like taking a step back in time, because it’s a much gentler pace … it’s great for [people] to get away and it’s just a more relaxed way of living."

It was recently reported by Norwich City Council, that along with Birmingham, Derry and Sheffield, it is hoping to become the first ever UK City of Culture in 2013, with the winner expected to gain long-term economic and social benefits.
