Car hire customers to get away this bank holiday?

Car hire customers and families should use the May Day bank holiday to take a short break, according to one organisation.

The Family Holiday Association (FHA) stated that getting away can make a big difference to the health and wellbeing of parents and their offspring.

Director of the FHA John McDonald remarked: "I think getting a break away from home at bank holiday or the summer holidays is extremely important. Happier families make happier communities."

He added that many people underestimate the benefits a short break can bring and he noted that in Europe taking a vacation is part of the social welfare system.

Meanwhile, car hire customers may want to take a trip to London as the capital moved from tenth to fifth in a recent poll of the ten most popular May Day destinations.

The results also suggested the public would prefer to retreat to a domestic location due to the recent volcanic eruption in Iceland, which disrupted thousands of travellers worldwide.
