Car hire customers to celebrate St George’s Day?

Car hire customers may want to attend one of the many St George’s celebrations which are taking place across England this weekend.

Events in Staffordshire include a full scale re-enactment of a battle scene between Royalists and Parliament along with puppet shows and tours of Tamworth Castle.

Car hire customers could head to Hampshire where the official jester of Salisbury will be putting in an appearance and there will also be performances from the Devils Jump Lancashire clog dancers, a Punch and Judy show and the Nasira Turkish Dancers.

Dancers, choirs and knights will be providing entertainment for members of the public in Manchester’s Albert Square.

Chief executive of Visit England James Berresford said: "It’s great to see the English public creating so many fantastic events to celebrate St George’s Day."

He added that he hopes events like this will appeal to tourists and give them another reason to visit England.
