Car hire at Edinburgh Airport ideal for Harry Potter fans?

Families taking advantage of car hire at Edinburgh Airport could find a trip to Alnwick Castle and Garden is a great way to keep the children entertained.

Aspiring young wizards will love the programme of events inspired by Harry Potter taking place at the attraction, from wand making to potion stirring.

On October 23rd, youngsters can join in with a herbology lesson or take a tour of the poison garden and forbidden forest trail at Alnwick Garden, while the castle is hosting a class in ogres and mythical beasts as well as a dragon puppet-making workshop.

The fun continues the following day with a lesson in how to make a spellbook and a Halloween magic show.

Similar activities run until October 31st and there is even a Hogwartian Party on October 28th.

Alnwick Castle is approximately a two-hour drive from Edinburgh Airport along the A1, which follows the north-east coastline.
