Bristol festival ‘may to appeal to car hire customers’

Car hire customers that are going to Bristol may be interested to find out that a festival will be taking place.

Mayfest, which runs from May 7th to 22nd, promises to bring "an eclectic programme of theatre by emerging and leading artists from Bristol, the UK and beyond in theatre and non-theatre sites across the city".

One of the highlights will be a large-scale performance on the harbourside that will see a hotel magically appear, allowing the audience to get a glimpse of the inhabitants’ lives.

Trilogy – a play about what it means to be a woman in the 21st century – will be on at the Old Vic.

Artistic directors Matthew Austin and Kate Yedigaroff note they are excited about the line up, which promises to be "broad and high impact".

Last year’s event attracted praise from the Guardian, with the news provider saying that it was so good that a person would consider moving to the place after it.
