Car hire customers who are looking for somewhere to stay may want to consider lodging in a Best Western.

This is because it was ranked the number one midscale hotel in Brand Keys’ 2010 annual Customer Loyalty Engagement Index.

In order to compile the directory, 33,500 consumers were asked to find out how the companies performed in terms of the reliability they offer.

The Ramada and Holiday Inn were two of the chains that went up against the eventual winners in the race.

Best Western claims to be the world’s largest hotelier organisation, operating 4,000 hotels in 80 different countries.

Other victors at the ceremony included Apple in the Smartphone category, Grey Goose for vodka and J Crew in the retail store prize.

It was recently announced by TripAdvisor that the Rudding Park in Harrogate is the UK’s best hotel.

The location was praised for its luxury, with one client stating that "[even] if we had been snowed in, I would not have been unhappy!"
