B&Bs ‘are a British institution’
A visit to a B&B could be ideal for any tourists planning car hire holidays in the UK, as an expert has described them as a British "institution".
Travellers appreciate the service, attention to detail and personal touches that such facilities offer, said Emma O’Boyle, UK media relation manager for TripAdvisor.
She was commenting after a poll conducted on the review site found that nine of Europe’s ten most popular B&Bs are in Britain.
Meanwhile, sites in Yorkshire and Cornwall were among those in the UK top ten for hotels, with Ms O’Boyle highlighting what makes the areas attractive to car hire customers and other tourists.
"Yorkshire has stunning scenery – this came up time and time again in user reviews," she said. "Cornwall was consistently praised for its good food, in particular its local produce."
Last month, travelsupermarket.com found that 16 per cent of Brits intend to take their main holiday in the UK.
