Balloon brilliance in Bristol with Heathrow car rental
The term Gordon Bennett is normally an exclamation but in the city of Bristol it's a balloon race and Heathrow car rental users can enjoy it over the weekend of September 25th and 26th.
Gordon himself was a keen balloonist and it was he who started the first edition of the race, back in 1906.
Since then, it has been held 53 times and the aim is simply to be the one who manages to fly the furthest from the start point.
First held in Paris, the event takes place in the home country of the last winners and no Britons had triumphed until 2008, when David Hempleman-Adams and Jon Mason flew from north of Chicago to New Mexico.
The venue is a farm just north of the city and tickets must be bought in advance.
Getting from Heathrow to Bristol could not be simpler, with almost the whole journey being accomplished by heading westbound on the M4 Motorway.
