A380 could lead to car hire at Manchester Airport
The range of aircraft those using car hire at Manchester Airport may arrive on has expanded this week as the world's largest commercial airliner arrived for the first time this week.
Emirates Airlines flew its 500-seat Airbus 380 into Manchester this week before it then jetted off to Dubai, launching a new service between the two hubs.
Manchester has spent over £10 million on new facilities to ensure it can host the plane and is one of only 17 airports in the world with the capacity to take flights in and out from the super jumbo.
And those visiting the north-west of England after landing at Manchester may pass near the airport where the wings are made.
It is located in Broughton, just outside the historic city of Chester.
The arrival of the A380 is one of the latest feathers in Manchester's cap.
Earlier this summer, it was listed among Europe's top airports by Airports Council International, joining an exclusive list that also included Lyon, Barcelona and Malta at a ceremony in Milan.
